Welcome to the Native American Success Center!
The Native American Success Center (NASC) serves as an academic and cultural resources center for Native American and Alaskan Native students attending Coconino Community College. As the NASC, we:
- Provide academic, cultural, social, and transitional support for Native American students
- Provide support to Native American students in the transition from home to the college community
- Offer academic and career advising, tutoring, and peer mentoring services
- Connect and refer students to other campus resources
- Develop and promote diversity and inclusion programming in support of Indigenous, Native American, American Indian, and/or Alaska Native cultures
- Promote outreach with tribal communities and organizations
Our overall Native American student enrollment averages 650 (20% of overall enrollment) each semester and with a rich cultural diversity of 26+ tribal nations are represented. Coconino Community College maintains federal designation as a Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institution (NASNTI).

Native American Success Centers
Coconino Community College has designated space for two Native American Success Centers. One location will be on the Lone Tree Campus in Flagstaff, AZ, and another at the Page Center in Page, AZ. News Flash! The official grand opening of the Page Center Native American Success Center will be on April 27, 2022! The opening of the Native American Success Center for the Lone Tree Campus in Flagstaff, AZ is set for Fall 2022.
Tutoring Services
Coconino Community College has partnered with Nimbus Learning to provide you with streamlined tutoring services. We encourage students to download the Nimbus Mobile Application as another way to conveniently access tutoring schedules and sessions on the go.

The Strengthening Indigenous Student Success Program will be offering Tutoring services at our Flagstaff and Page campuses. For questions, you may contact Brian Francis, SISS Program Coordinator, at 928-226-4337.
Native American Peer Mentors
The Strengthening Indigenous Student Success Program will be offering one-on-one peer mentoring for the Fall of 2022. Native American Peer Mentors will work closely with CCC students in navigating the college environment. Peer Mentors and students will participate together in team building, college success workshops, outdoor activities, and the Native American Summer Bridge program.

Important dates and information:
Who? - First-time Native American freshmen students
When? - June 3 - July 25 2024
Where? - Lone Tree Campus in Flagstaff, AZ and the Page Center in Page, AZ (Students will need to have housing and transportation)
Cost? - CCC will cover the costs of tuition and books for ENG 101A and a college success course!

The CCC Native American Summer Bridge program ensures new freshmen who are Arizona residents a successful transition from high school into college.
Get a head start on your college experience! During Summer Bridge you will meet other new students, participate in peer mentoring, and tutoring, learn about CCC, and connect with one another and the Native American Success Center staff through engaging activities. In just eight weeks, you will take an ENG 101A course totaling five credit hours that will fulfill CCC degree requirements and you will also take an exciting college skills course.
NASNTI Grant Information
Through a grant competition, funds are awarded to NASNTI institutions of higher education to provide opportunities for Native American and Alaskan Natives toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. The NASNTI grant is sponsored by Coconino Community College and is 100% Federally Funded through the U.S. Department of Education, totaling $2.1 million dollars.
